Peter’s dance career is one of numerous and diverse achievements indeed. After graduating from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) with a Diploma in Dance, he received a Ballet Soloist Scholarship to study at the renowned Ajkun Ballet Theatre in New York, USA. His constant efforts have seen him taking to the world stage with ease, performing in countries such as the USA, China, Japan, Korea and Malaysia, and with names like Jacky Cheung, Andy Lau, 5566, Jeff Chang and Xiao Xiao.
His relentless spirit and never-ending fervor sees him pushing the limits on a daily basis and constantly seeking to improve himself. He has been trained in different genres of which his most adept includes Hip Hop, Jazz, Contemporary, Ballet, Chinese Dance, Latin and Ballroom. He has choreographed for dance groups such as NUS Dance Blast! , NUS Dance Synergy, NTU Halls, National Junior College, Anderson Junior College, Nanyang Polytechnic, People’s Association Talent Group, as well as artistes such as Derrick MacDonald (UK), Xiao Xiao and Fan Yi Cheng amongst others.
Most laudable is perhaps the effort Peter puts in to develop the local scene and the next generation of dancers through his activism and tutelage of numerous students. He co-founded multi-award winning Hip Hop team ‘Lil’ White Ridin’ Hoods’ (World Cyber Game Dance Competition 2005 Champion, Dance Works 2005 Champion, Dance Works 2006 Runners Up, NTU Impresario Competition 2005 & 2006 Champions, Funkamania XI 2005 Runners Up), Fast Forward Modern Jazz Group, La Ballroom En Masse (Social & Ballroom club) as well as Viva LatiNUS (Showdance).
Peter is currently the resident instructor of SIM Dance Art (Jazz/Contemp) and Bravissimo! (Showdance) as well as Director for Theatre Arts Troupe (Chinese Dance).
Dance aside; Peter is actively involved in dance productions either as director, production manager or stage manager. His credit includes NYP Musical (2004 & 2007), Regent Secondary Production FLAIR (2012), BON VOYAGE by Bravissimo! (2012), ON THE RIM by NUS Dance Synergy, Shut Up And Dance!! Production series by NUS Dance Blast!, Recognize Studio Recital Vol. 2&3, Danz People Studio Recital, Dance Arts Studio Recital, Jitterbug Studio DAP Graduation Production, Soundwave production by People Association, ALL[titude] by SIM Dance Art, Journey Through Time – SIM Concert Dance Concert and HOPE FOR HAIYAN charity concert.
