Huixiang started pursuing her interests in dance late in life at the ripe old age of 20 when she was dragged to a hip hop class by a friend. Within half a year she took her first jazz class and there was no turning back. (Just turning many chaines and pique turns and pirouettes and…you get the idea.) Huixiang’s style of jazz is best described as eclectic, with a mix of old school styling and lyrical jazz. She is a firm believer in the value of a strong core and basic techniques, and that any and all music styles can be used for jazz choreography. Her mantra is either “Create something everyday” or “Sleep as much as you can”, depending on her mood.
