With his humorous personality, Ben has a special gifting of bring- ing joy in learning during his classes, which makes people feel a sense of comfort learning from him. Ben strives to groom the younger generations into not only good dancers, but also ones with a positive attitude. He also believes that his learning journey is, in a wholesome way, a never-ending one.
His journey began in 2006, where Ben started learning Bboying from the pioneers in Singapore and began taking part in various competition such at “Street festival” and “Paym funk it out” where he clinched top 4 titles & “Fuyo interschool”, where he got into the top 8. With that, Ben strives to share his foundation, passion and joy for Bboying.
In 2008 Ben joined Ngee Ann Polytechic’s Hip Hop club, “New Revolving Age”. Under the tutelage of Ann Tan, he was exposed to many other genres like Hip-Hop, Locking, St Jazz, Waacking and Contemporary. Initially, Ben had a hard time coping with all the new genres due to its difference from the Bboying style, but with determination and hard work, Ben has proven to be a versatile dancer unlike many Bboys around the globe.
Throughout the years, Ben has made quite a number of achievements such as placing 2nd runner up for Singapore Dance Delight 2 years in a row, 2013 and 2014. In addition, he was crowned Champion for Dance Free Competition and has also competed internationally in Australia’s prestigious World Supremacy Battleground Dance Competition. He has also been exposed to performances such as back dancing for Winner of Singapore Idol, Taufik Batisah & O school’s “Wonderment” held at Marina Bay Sands. In addition, he has already began his journey of grooming with the Anglo-Chi- nese School Singapore Barker boys, where they obtained Gold for their SYF in 2013 & 1st runner-up for Danceworks Competition 2013.
When it comes to performing or teaching, Ben always believes in going the extra mile to deliver what is required of him. “Always have faith, believe in your dreams and live with no regrets
