It began as an interest. At 17, Dance entered and enriched Yiwen’s life, physically, mentally and emotionally. With great guidance from her mentors, Bryan Lee, Carol Cheong and Sheila Cheong, Yiwen took a quick and clear path to becoming an instructor.
Prior to Converge Studios, Yiwen had been teaching at Studio Wu for the past 7-8 years. She receives the most motivation and inspiration from her students and peers, and hopes to be able to inspire others in her own ways.
Aside from teaching, Yiwen is an experienced performer and choreographer. Some of these events include MediaCorp’s Star Search 2010, True Hearts, THK Charity, VivoCity Countdown, Jay Park Fan-meet in Singapore, and also numerous flashmob events.
Versatility is Yiwen’s biggest trait. She enjoys being able to explore different dance genres and experiencing the joy of each. She believes that having an open mind is essential, both in Dance and Life.
