An avid pursuer of all things creative, Zelia opted for a switch in career to dance instruction and performance at the age of 17.
Having started with Chinese Cultural and Modern Dance since 9, Zelia picked up Jazz Dance under the tutelage of Mr Peter Teo further on, as well as Hip Hop, Ballet, Latin-American Ballroom and Social Dancing. Her various forays into local dance competitions over the past 8years have boosted her reputation in the local scene, most recently appearing on National TV for The Dancefloor Season 2 and placing in the Top8.
In 2013, she flew to Dance Centre Myway in Kiev, Ukraine for a 1-month intensive training. Moving on to bigger performing opportunities, Zelia did her first musicals with Dream Academy’s Great World Cabaret (2015) and OneKind Theatre’s NANYANG (2015). She is also actively performing for big company events for various dance genres.
Zelia completed Dance Examinations for CSTD Modern Jazz (Grade 8) and Contemporary by Jason Winters (Level 2) and is currently moving ahead to further her Certifications in 2016.
Having taught in local institutions, dance studios and at open workshops for 8 years, Zelia hopes to be a truly versatile dancer and share her passion and love for performing!
